Mattress Coir Fibre: Brown

Coir natural fibre is extracted from meso-carp tissue, or husk of the coconut fruit. The husk contains 20% to 30% of fibre of varying length. After grinding the husk,the long fibres are removed and used for various industrial purposes, such as rope and mat making. Mattress fibre is the short and weaker fibre mechanically extracted from the matured brown coconut husk, soaked for a period of 8 weeks in water.

Sri Lanka is the world's largest exporter of brown coir fibre currently producing over 100,000 Metric tons.
